Red River Roleplay Penal Code

Title I: General Provisions

Section 1.01: Applicability

This code applies to all citizens, law enforcement, and government entities within the jurisdiction of Red River.


Section 1.02: Definitions

Terms like "felony," "misdemeanor," and "infraction" are defined for clarity:

Infraction: Minor offenses, punishable by fines or warnings.
Misdemeanor: Moderate offenses, punishable by fines, jail time, or community service. ⬅️ Determined By A Judge.
Felony: Severe offenses, punishable by extended jail time, substantial fines, or probation. ⬅️ Determined By A Judge And Jury.
Bond must be posted or you will sit in jail till trial.


Title II: Crimes Against Persons

Chapter 2.01: Assault

2.01.1 Simple Assault

Intentionally causing minor physical harm or threatening to cause harm.
Penalty: $500 fine Plus $40 court cost, jail up to 20 minutes. ⬅️ Determined By A Judge.

2.01.2 Aggravated Assault

Causing serious bodily harm or using a deadly weapon. ⬅️ Determined By A Judge.
Penalty: $5,000 fine Plus $133 court cost, jail up to 30 minutes.

Chapter 2.02: Homicide

2.02.1 Manslaughter

Unintentionally causing the death of another person.
Penalty: $5,500 fine Plus $133 court cost, jail up to 60 minutes. ⬅️ Determined By A Judge And Jury.
Bond must be posted or you will sit in jail till trial.

2.02.2 Second-Degree Murder

Does not require premeditation, but does involve intent to kill or cause serious bodily harm.
Penalty: $10,000 fine Plus $133 court cost, jail up to 120 minutes. ⬅️ Determined By A Judge And Jury.
Bond must be posted or you will sit in jail till trial.

2.02.3 First-Degree Murder

Premeditated killing of another person. Or killing a public service person or animal
Penalty: $20,000 fine Plus $133 court cost, jail up to 180 minutes. ⬅️ Determined By A Judge And Jury.
Bond must be posted or you will sit in jail till trial.


Title III: Crimes Against Property

Chapter 3.01: Theft
3.01.1 Petty Theft
Stealing property valued at $1,000 or less.
Penalty: $1,000 fine, 2 minutes jail.
3.01.2 Grand Theft
Stealing property valued over $1,000.
Penalty: $5,000 fine, 10 minutes jail.
Chapter 3.02: Burglary
3.02.1 Residential Burglary
Unlawfully entering a dwelling with intent to commit a crime.
Penalty: $8,000 fine, 12 minutes jail.
3.02.2 Commercial Burglary
Unlawfully entering a business with intent to commit a crime.
Penalty: $10,000 fine, 15 minutes jail.
